Kevin Junior is an adorable tank of a dog! Look at Dr. Wellman removed from his stomach and small intestines. Foreign bodies are a medical emergency. Any dog who is vomiting, lethargic, not eating well is considered a foreign body until proven otherwise. The saying is “the sun should never set on a foreign body”. When a foreign body is not immediately removed, the intestines can become necrotic and open up. Culprits we see most often causing foreign bodies: rope toys, any kind of string, socks, underwear, feminine products, clumpable cat litter, corn cobs, squeezers from toys, bones, anything meat soaked – tooth picks, saran wrap, styrofoam, pieces of a tennis ball, rocks…. this list goes on and on!
